He and his wife made their home in Gatesville until moving to Palestine May 21, 1977. He had been employed by the state for over 25 years. He was a member and past master of Gatesville Masonic Lodge No. 197 AF AM. He was a member of the Karem Temple Shrine and the First Baptist Church of Gatesville.

An avid fisherman, he was also a member of the Gatesville Bass Club. Survivors include: his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Culli) Brookshire of Jonesboro; moth- Walter Ayers died Dec. 3 at his residence. Services were held Dec.

She preceded him in death December 20, 1987. He was a farmer. Survivors include: three daughters, Anna Louise Rice of Copperas Cove, Dorothy Mae Graham of Gatesville and Ruby Lee Miller of Georgetown; one sister, Bessie Meyers Cook of Lampasas; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Pauline Russell, 75, of King died Nov. 29 at King's Daughters Hospital in Temple. Services were held Dec. 1 at King Baptist Church with Rev. Gary L.

Paxton officiating. Buried, was in the King Cemetery. Born' April 4, 1914 in Lone Grove, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Ida Warden. She was raised and attended school in Lone Grove and in the King community. She was the postmaster of King for many years and was currently employed at Medical Plastics Laboratory in Gatesville.

She had been employed there for 24 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Russell, She was a longtime resident of the King community and member of the' King Baptist Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Robert (To Ann) Carothers of Gatesville; two- -sons, Billy Lloyd Russell of Gatesville and Kenneth Russell of White Hall; four grandchildren; and one great Pallbearers at the funeral were Billy Joe Herring, Rhabb Dickie, Charles Williams, Sonny Warden, Lewis Warden, Jerry Dickie and Larry Adams. 2 in Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Rolland McLean officiating. Burial was in the Pearl Cemetery. Born Nov. 23, 1932 in Wolfe City, she was the daughter of the late William and Lula Mae Coney. She moved with her parents when a child to San Angelo being raised and attending school there.

She married Albert Gervase Smith in San Angelo July 30, 1950. They made their home in San Angelo, Hewitt and Gatesville moving back to San Angelo July 30, 1982. She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Waco and had been employed by the Mars Co. while living in Hewitt. Survivors include: her husband; four daughters, Elaine Brown of Laneville, Vickie Wells of Corpus Christi, Anna Smith of San Angelo and Christine Fisher of Lorena; one son, Albert Lynn Smith of Grand Prairie; one sister, Della Eckert of San Angelo; one brother, Jackey Coney of San Angelo; and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Gervase (Mary Helen) Smith, 57, of San Angelo died Dec. 2 in Ki Cemetery with Rev. Donald Valenta officiating. Born Feb.

17, 1898 on Coryell Creek in Coryell County, she was raised in Coryell County. She married Charles Jesse Gatliff in Brownwood in 1935. They moved to Gatesville in 1985. She was a member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband; one daughter, Mrs.

Charl Dean Harrington of Oglesby: one sister, Mrs. Dollie Roberson of Farwell; two grandchildren; and one great -grandson.
