Fred Grubb and Mr. and Mrs. John Schloeman. Mrs. Giddens began her 25 years of service in the Texas public school system in 1937 at Evant soon after graduating from high school.

After working for the Evant schools for five years, she accepted a position in the county tax office in Gatesville. In 1950, the year the present Gatesville elementary school building was completed, she joined the Gatesville public schools force as a bookkeeper and a secretary to Supt. McKamie, with offices in the old high school building on College Hill. She was secretary to Supt. McKamie until his retirement 22 years later.

The bookkeeping office was moved to the present high school building when it was completed in 1959. Then the administrative offices were moved to the primary building when it was constructed in 1970. Supt. McKamie retired in 1972, and Mrs. Giddens remained in her bookkeepersecretarial role for the new superintendent, Charles Zeigler.

A suite of administrative offices was placed in the elementary school building during a 1973 remodeling project, and she worked there until her retirement. During her years on the school staff, she has seen four new buildings constructed and has handled much of the book work connected with their financing.
