Snake program Snakes! Say the word and for a lot of people, shivers go up and down their spine. Snakes have been objects of fascination, suspicion, or fear since ancient times. For some people, their first reaction to a snake is to pick up the nearest shovel or hoe and quickly dispatch the intruder. Snakes, however, play a key role in the balance of nature, Mother Neff State Park Ranger Leah Huth reported. One of the Leave No Trace principles for outdoor ethics is "Leave it as you find it." Area residents are invited to join the park rangers at the Mother Neff State Park breezeway at 2 p.m.
