Laveail Herrman, Glennyth Medart and Kay Pruett spent Thursday in Waco. Funeral services for Shook Andrew, brother of Mrs. Travis Carroll of Pearl, were held in Fort Worth. Sympathy is extended to the family. Orlean and Royce Oney spent a few days in Louisiana visiting her parents.

vera Whitt visited this week with the Harold Selfs and Clyde and Betty Wilson. Norma Clay of Bee House and Oney Chafln visited Vera during the week. Grady and Florene Keeton attended a ball game Tuesday night in Gatesville when Greg Keeton played. Visitors this week with Boon and Leota Wilkinson were Tommie Carswell of Gr anbury; Randall Newton of Fort Worth; the Jeff Carswell family, Mack and Velma Wilkinson, Ronda Wilkinson and Creed Oney. Cleburne and Mary Lee Doyle spent the weekend in Andrews visiting the Delmond Boren and Tim Boren families.

Thursday, the Doyles helped Aunt Etta Sanders celebrate her 100th birthday at Canterbury Villa in Gatesville. Miss Warren, Victor Melant wedding set James and Kathy Warren of Gatesville and Patricia Hesbrook of Cranfills Gap announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Lela Dee Warren, to Victor G. Melant, son of Victor C. Melant of Florida and Evangeline T. Melant of Panama Canal Zone.

The bride-elect, a 1986 graduate of Cranfills Gap High School, is employed as a waitress at Olive Gardens in Waco. The prospective bridegroom, a 1974 graduate of Balboa High School in the Panama Canal Zone and a 1979 graduate of Canal Zone College, is manager of El Chico Restaurant in Waco. The wedding is planned for 3:30 p.m. August 11 at Western Heights Baptist Church in Waco. The couple will spend a two-week honeymoon in Cozumul, Mexico.
