The Gatesville Messenger, Wednesday, September 2, 2009, Page 5 Conference to allow parents to follow classes Parents of Gatesville Junior High School students are invited to "walk in their children's footprints" at a special Thursday -teacher conference. From 6-8 p.m., parents can follow their child's class schedule to get a feel for what it is like for their child changing classes. Each class will be 3-5 minutes. A bell will end and start each class with parents being given five minutes to reach the next class. GJHS Principal Bobby Cole said the school wants to get parents more involved in the coming year.

"One way is to encourage the parents to come and get a feel of the classes and the schedule," Cole said. Campuses for younger children have "Meet the Teacher" before school starts and open house not until the spring, Cole noted, so Thursday's parentteacher conference is a way to get parents involved early in the school year.
