May 23 'i j. 8:31 a.m., a woman in the 100 CITY OF GATESVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT The following is a breakdown of activity reported by the dates ville Police Department through its dispatcher during the period of May 22-25.

While there were many calls to the dispatcher, the following represent only a partial list of more significant activity. Funeral services were held Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Florence with the Rev. Troy Allen officiating.

Burial followed at Tobey Cemetery. Mr. Palmer was born Sept. 13, 1934, in Flat near Owl Creek, the son of the late Oscar F. and Lela Palmer.

He attended school at Flat. He entered the U.S. Army on April 19, 1954, and served until February 1957. Palmer moved to Killeen in 1962 and remained there until he moved to Florence in 1992. He married the former Bernice "Nita" Priest on Dec.

5, 1992, in Florence, He was preceded in death by a brother, Travis Lee Palmer. Survivors include his wife, Nita, of Florence; two sons. Dusty Sadler of Killeen and Scotty Simpson of Bowie; a daughter, Toby Carmon of Killeen; a brother, Ray Palmer of Flat; a Betty Jean Edwards; and seven grandchildren. Billy Joe Wiley Billy Joe Wiley, 63, of Lampasas died Thursday, in "til A urt block of Jackson Street reported a cat had bitten someone. i 12:42 p.m., a school official called the p61ice to report some threats had been written on a wall at the high school.

May 25 12:55 a.m., a Bell County 1 Sheriff's Department dispatcher reported the Temple Police' Department was in pursuit of some armed robbery suspects headed toward Gatesville on Hwy. 36. 4: 1 2 a.m., a harassment by communication report was filed after a woman complained her telephone number was on a billboard in town and she wanted it removed.

4:29 a.m., a theft of services report was filed after the owner of a billboard reported someone had climbed up and put information on his billboard. 9:02 a.m., a woman in the 1400 block of East Main Street reported a case of criminal mischief. 10:20 a.m., an employee reported a snake in a business drop box on Main Street. 1:31 p.m., a woman in the 100 block of Oak Lane reported her neighbors had switched their lawn chairs with hers. 2:05 p.m., a man reported a white Ford vehicle travelling in excess of 90 miles per hour on FM 116.

1:38 p.m., a man reported someone tried to run him off the road on South Hwy. 36. 8:18 p.m., an ambulance was requested for an inmate who had apparently overdosed at the Lane Murray Unit. 1 10:16 p.m., a threat assessment form was issued after a woman reported someone in a truck ramming her sister's car in the 400 block of Westview Drive. A memorial service was conducted on Saturday, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas with Pastor Elvis Fisher officiating.

Mr. Wiley was born on Oct. 22, 1940, in Houston, the son of Leslie Wiley and the former Marcel "Lou" Shaw. He graduated from high school in Houston and later joined the U.S. Navy.

After serving the country for two years, he began a career in the civil service that lasted for over 30 years. The first part of his service was in the phone company at Fort Hood and the last years included working for the fire department. He married Mary Geneva Faulk in 1968 in Belton. She preceded him in death in 2001. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Colton Wiley.

Survivors include three sons, John Wiley, James Wiley and Jason Wiley, all of Lampasas; two sisters, Sandy Bigham and Doris Owens of Belton; parents, Leslie and Marcel "Lou" Wiley of Belton; and five grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to the Lampasas Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 1403, Lampasas, TX 76550. Monday, May 24, at Scott's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Rex Tilly officiating.

Burial followed at Restland Cemetery. David lived an exemplary life in which he provided a stable and loving home by working for 21 years as a mechanic at Fort Hood. He enjoyed spending time in his shop at home, rebuilding unfortunate vehicles or working with wood. Left to mouni his loss but to rejoice in having shared his life are his wife, Lesli Janean Walker; daughters, Ashlea Lauren and Sarah Nicole; brothers, Jimmy Don Walker, Larry Dean Walker, William Keith Walker; step-sister, Christine McDowell; and a multitude of family and friends. James Harvey Hodges James Harvey Hodges, 77, of Lampasas died Sunday, May 23, 2004 in an Austin Hospital.

Services were held Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Lampasas with Dr. Rick Willis officiating. Burial followed in Groves Cemetery. Hodges was born April 21, 1927, in Lampasas County to Alvie and Hannah Ethel Groves Hodges. He attended school at Clay Rock, then later completed his education at Lampasas.

Hodges joined the Army near the end of World War II. After being discharged, he opened a gas station which he owned and operated for more than 30 years. On Oct. 28, 1947, he married Gwen Clark in Goldthwaite. He served as a deacon and taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Lampasas.

He was a member of Saratoga Lodge A.E and A.M. No. 546 and Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 295. Survivors include his wife, Gwen Hodges of Lampasas; daughter, Valory Leonard of Richland; three sons, Jerry Hodges of Austin, Dan Hodges of Pidcoke, and Butch Hodges of Lampasas; a brother, A.G. Hodges of Lampasas; and seven grandchildren.

The family suggests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, Lampasas; Lampasas Fire Department Equipment Fund; or the Baptist Children's Home in Georgetown. i block of Mooney Avenue in Oglesby reported a case of criminal mischief. May 24 6:36 a.m., a man in the 100 block of Mooney Avenue in Oglesby reported a theft. 10:04 a.m., a woman reported a reckless driver on South Hwy. 36. 11:00 a.nii, a man in the 500 block of Leon Street reported a theft. 1 1 :38 p.m., a man reported a case of illegal dumping in the 1500 block of CR 132.

3:54 p.m., a man on North FM 183 at Evant reported an assault. 4:30 p.m., a man in the 300 block of Comanche Drive reported a domestic disturbance. 3:54 p.m., the same man who reported an earlier assault reported another assault in the 200 block of Tom Sawyer in Evant. 9:04 p.m., a woman in the 200 block of Woodglen Drive reported some problems with dogs. May 25 12:46 a.m., a woman in the 100 block of Mooney Avenue in Oglesby reported a possible suicide attempt.

9:30 a.m., a woman reported a suspicious vehicle on Hay Valley Road. 9:24 a.m., a man in the 300 block of Mountain Dew reported a dog was attacking his goats. 12:29 p.m., a woman in the 100 block of Mooney Street in Oglesby reported a case of trespassing. 1:41 p.m., a man reported a case i of road rage on South Hwy. 36 in the former Fort Gates area.

2:01 p.m., the sheriff's department forwarded a call about a reckless driver on FM 116. 2:08 p.m., a man reported a case of criminal mischief in the 100, block of Main Street in Oglesby. 3:27 p.m., a woman reported a reckless driver on Hwy. 36. 3:36 p.m., a woman at Evant School reported a terroristic threat.

May 22 12:44 a.m., a man was released to his older brother after a call came in about a man laying face down in a driveway in the 200 block of Ash Drive. 7:55 a.m., a man reported his vehicle had been hit by another in the parking lot of a business on North Hwy. 36 Bypass. 9:15 a.m., an individual at the Woodman State Jail Unit asked to speak to an officer about some information on a subject and a child abduction. 12: 10 p.m., a woman in the 1700 block of Saunders Street reported someone she knew broke the windshield of her vehicle and poured sugar in the gas tank.

12:49 p.m., a criminal trespass warning was issued to a 24-year-old woman after officers responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 400 block of Live Oak Drive. 7:09 p.m., a man reported a vehicle ran two traffic lights and nearly caused an accident in the 2300 block of Main Street. 8:54 p.m., an individual was picked up on a warrant, processed and paid the fine before being released. 9:09 p.m., a man reported a white Ford pickup swerving all over the road on South Hwy. 36.

10:13 p.m., a woman in the 1600 block of Waco Street reported someone stole a plant from her home and also did something to her car. May 23 5:11 a.m., a woman at the Woodman State Jail Unit reported her husband took her to work at approximately 2 a.m. and has not been seen or heard from since. 2:55 p.mM a woman at a business in the 1 600 block of East Main Street reported the burglary of a building. 5:5 1 p.m., a man was arrested at an unspecified Franklin Street address on an uspecified charge.

7:04 p.m., a woman in the 1100 block 6f Waco Street asked to speak to an officer about a missing juvenile. 7:54 p.m., an individual in the 1100 block of Leisure Acres reported a large colony of bees. 10:31 p.m., a man in the 300 block of Lutterloh reported he was having some problems with his wife. May 24 12:14 a.m., the employee at a business on North Hwy. 36 Bypass reported an intoxicated person driving a vehicle.

Bates-Faubion reunion slated Sunday The daughters of Samuel Henry and Mattie Olean (Bates) Faubion are hosting the fourth annual Bates-Faubion reunion on Sunday, at Mother Neff State Park in the pavilion building. Registration and visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue to the noon meal. Attendees should take enough food for the family and it will be spread pot-luck style. Paper plates, plasticware, tea and coffee will be provided.

Dress is casual. Attendees should bring lawn chairs, cameras and any photos they would like to share. All descendents of Joseph Eugene and Alice Pearl (Enochs) Faubion and Gary Eldredge and Lizzie Ozelma (Smitherman) Bates are invited and encouraged to join the clan, have-fun and fellowship and get reacquainted with family members. There will be a pinata for the kids and games for all. The event will include a garage sale, bake sale and hamburger sale. In addition, live music, featuring country, bluegrass and gospel.
