a a a a a a a a a a visited her sister in a hospital last Thursday night. Visiting over the week end with Mrs. W. S. Garnett in her home were Miss Karen'Frost of Baylor University in Waco, Pat Patterson of Tyler who attends the University of Texas at tin, Mrs.

Melvin Hyde of Austin and Mrs. Aubrey Davidson of Mound. Mrs. Garnett is expecting all her 'children home for Thanksgiving. The Douglass Mayberry family of Brookshire 'spent last week end here and attended homecoming at Gatesville High School.

Mr. Mayberry attended local church services Sunday land taught the Men's Sunday School Class. The Mur! Montgomery family of near Gatesville visited Sunday in the O. E. McHargue home.

Mrs. Beatrice Powell of Gatesville viisted Mrs. H. W. Bragewitz last Wednesday morning.

Gerald Cummings. and daughters of Izoro, Harold Brown and sons, Darlene Brown of Liberty and James Brown of Lampasas. Attending a dinner honoring Mrs. Jack Roach on her 88th birthday were Mrs. Leona BilJingsley and Wanda Billingsley.

It was held in Gatesville. C. C. Onstott of Evant has received word that her son, Delbert Onstott, and family of Farmers Branch were involved in a head-on car collision near Weatherford Saturday. All were injured but not seriously.

Mr. and Mrs. Daymon Harold Graham and daughters, Silva and Gretta, 0 of Fort Worth spent Friday night in the A. B. Graham home.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. Billingsley and Jeff of Grand Prairie visited over the week end with his mother, Mrs. Leona Billingsley, and the James Billingsleys.

Also accompanying the group were Mrs. James Bruce, Mrs. Bruce Bomar and Mrs. Maurice Magee.

Brewer home. They also visited other relatives in Gatesville and V. aco. A brother, Chester Brewer of Austin, also visited in the Brewer home. Mrs.

Bessie Brown spent four days last week in the Gatesville hospital. She had a virus. Major and Mrs. E. Alpho Peck of San Antonio visited last Wednesday at the Elam ranch.

Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Gibbs, Brenda and Pete, and Don Gibbs of Wichita Falls spent the week end at the farm with George Parrish while Mrs. Parrish and G. W.

were in Houston at the bedside of their daughter, Mrs. Bill Woolner. Mrs. Woolner had undergone surgery Friday in Twelve Oaks Hospital. The Parrishes returned home Sunday.

Mrs. James Billingsley visited her mother, Mrs. Fred Fisher of Hillcrest Nuring Home, Friday and also visited C. C. Onstott, Mrs.

Lee Brinkley and Mrs. Kate Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Barfield and sons of Dallas spent of Saturday night in the Bishop of Sanders home.

The Barfields of also visited Mr. and Mrs. Audley Harris. Thursday night guests in the James Billingsley home were Mr. and Mrs.

C. J. Farris. Wanda Billingsley visited one day last week with Mrs. G.

J. Baize and Miss Gladys Baize. Mrs. Ted Vandiver and Everett spent last Sunday in 0g- lesby with her mother, Mrs. Everett, and other relatives.

They also attended church services there. Darrell Tharp Funeral Held At Turnersville Darrell Tharp of Turnersville died Nov. 16 in the Clifton hospital. He was 78. Funeral services were held Nov.

18 at the Turnersville Baptist Church with Rev. M. E. Fairchild officiating. Burial was in the Turnersville cemetry.

Born Nov. 10, 1891, at Turnersville, he was a son of the late Etta Davis Tharp and Dan Tharp. He married the former Maggie Lyon Nov. 24, 1912. A rtired farmer, Mr.

Tharp had been a lifelong resident of the Turnersville community. He was a member of Turnersville Baptist Church. Mr. Tharp was preceded in death a brother Floyd Tharp, and by grandson, Orville Tharp. Survivors include his wife; two sons, W.

D. Tharp of Bloomfield, N. and Grady Tharp of Bay City; one Mrs. Charles (Lorene) Turner of Norwalk, three brothers, Robert Henry Tharp of Turnersville, Tucker Tharp of Turnersville and Sam Tharp of California; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha McClendon and Mrs.

Locke Lewis, both of Turnersville, and Mrs. Jerry Phillips and Mrs. Cleo Carroll, both of Gatesville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers for Mr. Tharp's funeral were William Harold Tharp, Walter Dossman, John Rueter, Sam Locke, J.
