Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Barnard visited Sunday with Mrs.

Virgle Dawson in Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. Mrs. O. E. McHargue also called on Mrs.

Clawson. On Motor Scooter A car struck, two Gatesville youngsters on a motor scooter at 5 p.m. last Friday on a Raby Park drive north of the swim ming pool. The youngsters on the moto scooter Lewis Rhoades, 14, and Jerry Oclioa, 13 sustained minor injuries tliat required emergency treat ment at the hospital. Police Chief Gene Coins said the car was driven by Bobby Lee Davis, 17, of Gatesville.

He estimated damage at $25 to the scooter, $3 to the car. At 4 a.m. Sunday on a county road miles north of Og-lesby, a 1967 model car driv en by Gonzalo Gonzales of Og lesby ran off the road and struck a telephone pole. Neither Gonzales nor his wife, who was a passenger in the car, as in jured. Highway Patrolman J.

Hamilton estimated damage to the auto at $400. Director Appointed For Centex Economic Development District Judge J. Howard English of Hillsboro, chairman of the Central Texas Economic Development District has announced the selection of Jackson Gil more as the planner for the district. Sanders, USN, 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. William San ders of Copperas Cove, has boon graduated from nine weeks of Navy basic training at the Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, III. In the first weeks of his Naval serv ice he studied military sub jects and lived and worked under conditions similar to those ho will encounter on his first ship or at his first shore station. In making the transition from civilian life to Naval service, ho receives instruction under veteran Navy petty officers.

Mrs, McClanahan, a er resident o( Coryell and Harm Uton counties, had been living In Houston with her daughter. Relatives from Mound attend ed funeral services for Mrs. Al Burt Sunday afternoon in Gatesvllle. She died in a San Antonio hospital following heart surgery. A resident of Copperas Cove, Mrs. Burt was the former Miss Doris Magee, daughter of Mrs.

Martha Williams of Gates vllle, and the niece of Mrs. Bill McFarlin and Hollls Ayers. Mr. and Mrs. McFarlin.

Next weel there'll be a lull at the north fort, but from Aug.

5 to Aug. 19 the S. Army Reserve's 377th Support Brigade of New Orleans will be here for twoweek summer training stint For the 36th, traMne ver the vast acreage of this Cen tral Texas Arniy post has ranged from squad tactics to tank companies in the attack. A highlight of the first Week's training was an exercise in South Fort Hood's Vietnamese village an amazing replica of the type of communities through which American troops operate in Southeast Asia. Each rifle squad of the division's three infantry battalions w-as put through the Vietnam train ing program.

Armored units moved Into the field Monday for a five-day bivouac period under control Of the pivision 2nd DIVISION headquarters spent four days In bivuoac last week. All units of the division participated in a map exercise Monday under the direction of Maj. Gen- Selden Simpson, di vision commander from Ama rillo. Also moving to a pew bivouac site for the final week of train lng were the four artillery bat talions and division artillery headquarters. The cannoneers have been making good use of the vast ranges of Fort Hood for practice firing of their 105- mm.

153 -mm and 8-inch howit zers. Another highlight of the training period was the annual parade and review held Saturday. The troops marched In re view before Gen. Simpson; Maj. Gen.

Thomas S. Bishop, the Texas adjutant general; and other dignitaries. In a letter prepared for read ing to all members pf the divl sion. Gen. Simpson expressed his personal satisfaction with the accomplishments of division units.

He also lauded the 1,230 Army Reservists who are train lng with the division this sum mer. Every unit of the division will have stent at least four days in field bivouac prior to starting the return movement to home stations. Many units spend most of the two-week period in the field. The technical service units. administrative sections and other support organizations are receiving on-the-job training by providing the actual support for the combat units of the patch division.

ARTILLERY batteries from El Paso and infantry units from Amarillo and the Panhandle will be the first to break camp to start the movement back to home stations. All movements to Forf Hood this year were made with division transporta tion facilities. Giimore Previews Oliver Equipment R. The Mayor or City Health Officer of the City of Gatesvllle shall file a statement of such expenses incurred under Section 5 or under Section 6 of this ordinance, as the case may be, giving the amount of such cxienscs, the date on which said work was done or Improvements made, with the County Clerk of Coryell Coun ty, Texas: and the City of Gatesville, Texas, shall have a privileged lien on such lot or lots or real estate upon which said ork was done or improvements made to secure the expenditures so made, In accordance with the provisions of said Article Revised Civil Sta tutes of Texas, which said lien shall bo second only to tax liens and liens for street improvements; and said amount shall bear ten per cent Interest from the date, said statement was filed. It Is further provided that for any such expenditures, and Interest, as aforesaid, suit may be Instituted and recovery and foreclosure of said lien may lie hd in the name of the City of Gatesvllle, Texas; and the statement of expenses so made, as aforesaid, or certified copy thereof, shall be prima facie proof of the amount expended for such work or Improvements.

SECTION 8. Any person, firm or Individual ho shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined In any sum not excu-dlng Two Hundred Dollars and each and every day's violation shall constitute a separate and distinct offense, in case the owner or occupant of any lot. lots or premises under the provisions of ordinance shall be a corporation, and shall violate any provision of this ordinance, the president, vice president, secretary, treasurer of such corporation, or any manager, agent or employee of such corporation shall be also severalty liable for the penalties herein provided. SECTION 9. That If any rt of thus ordinance Is, or should be lu-ld invalid for any reason, then that fact shall not invalidate the entire ordinance, but the balance thereof shall remain in full force and effect.

Tuesday in the First Baptist Church pf Evant With Rev. Bob Stokes officiating. Burial was in the Murphee Cemetery with Evant Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Jeter, 43, died Sunday In a Hamilton hospital.

She was the former Miss Grace Teal. She was a member of the Evant Baptist Church. Survivors arq her husband of Hamilton; one daughter, Esta Mae Jeter of Hamilton; three sons, Thomas Edmond Jeter, Michael Aaron Jeter and Travis Teal Jeter, all of Hamilton; her mother, Mrs. Mollie E.
